The title of this paper reflects the idea that certain places in the landscape have a biography of their own (Bradley 2000 48). The archaeological material recovered from Kilgreany Cave is examined and the evidence for the diverse ways in which this natural place was used from the Neolithic through to the Early Medieval period is described and discussed.en
